If the person being "made fun of" is hearing the comments, they are perfectly justified in telling the offenders to knock it off. If someone on your team hears, it, they are equally justified to tell them to knock it off or that their jokes are in bad taste. Sometimes we all are a bit stupid and say something wrong or inappropriate. Giving them a friendly reminder the first time is good form, if they persist, then raise the issue. Las Vegas and Colorado casino owner Riviera Holdings Corp. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.

Company subsidiaries Riviera Operating Corp. and Riviera Black Hawk Inc. also filed Monday for reorganization in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Las Vegas. They own the 2,075-room Riviera hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip and the Riviera Black Hawk in Colorado.

The filings say the planned restructuring is supported by holders of more than two-thirds of nearly $248 million in debt under a June 2007 senior credit facility.

That could let Riviera Las Vegas and Riviera Black Hawk continue to operate during the bankruptcy process.

The company reported to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission late last year that it was trying to restructure debt to avoid filing for bankruptcy.

The felts used in Vegas are fast and may take some time to adjust to. Towne Billiards in Hamden has the championship cloth you'll be playing on installed on 3 of their 18 Brunswick tables. I suggest spending as much time as you can practicing on them so you'll be ready once you get to Vegas.

The address is 17 Marne St, Hamden, CT 06514, phone 203-281-7665. Their summer hours are open at 7pm Monday thru Saturday, 5pm Sunday. They have specials like play all night for $10 per person, food and bar service are available.

They just ask that you play responsibly (no masse, jump shots or trick shots [sorry Bruce]). Monday is taken up with APA teams and Wednesday is in-house league. Tell them you're with the APA and you want to practice on the championship felt.

As far as practice goes, sadly, I do not practice at all. I, like I am sure quite a few people in the league, have work, children, and other committments during the week that would prohibit me taking additional time to practice.

And even before we go to pool league, I hardly ever playa practice rack either. I understand that this lack of practice will never allow my game to excel to another level, but for now, I am comfortable with that.

Some ugly situations can occur if you tell the other team early that you should be aware of. You never know who says they are not going to come and then change their mind for what ever reason. What if the other team sends a player home and your player shows up? This happend on a team I was on and it was an uncomfortable situation. Thankfully everyone was good about the situation and the points really did not matter.

I would think telling the other team is good sportsmanship, but they should be aware that their player should stay until the end of the 4th match. I prefer to take the high road in these situations now, and live with any bad handicap matchups. I also like to have eight on the roster to avoid these problems (reliable eight too)]]>
